Travel, Driving, and Fieldwork

All employees, who travel, perform fieldwork, or use University vehicles, must read and understand several guidelines, take proper training, and complete and sign applicable forms.

Concur Travel

Before beginning a trip, all employees must fill out and submit a travel request for approval by an authorized approver in Concur Travel. Please visit the University of Alaska Travel Page for more information on using and accessing Concur.

International Travel

There are numerous steps to complete before traveling abroad. Navigate to the EHSRM Travel Page and scroll down to the Foreign Travel section.

Traveling with Friends or Family

Staff members who will be traveling with friends or family members while on official University business (this includes fieldwork), need to fill out and submit a University of Alaska Travel Accompaniment Waiver. Additionally, for those friends or family members who are under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a caretaker that is not a researcher, student, volunteer, or other person participating in the research.
