ALASKA CENTER FOR DOCUMENTARY FILM

Curator, Leonard Kamerling in the editing room.

The Alaska Center for Documentary Film is an internationally acclaimed program that has been documenting the changing cultures and issues of Northern peoples for the past three decades. The ACDF curates the UA Museum's film and audio collections, which contains more than 400 hours of priceless, irreplaceable visual and aural historical material of Alaska.

The Documentary Center's films and videos detail the relationship of Alaska Native and other Northern peoples to the land, sea and natural environment, as well as to their rapidly changing social, educational and political environments. From conception to editing, partner communities throughout the North collaborate in the critical decisions that determine the content and cultural perspective of the Center's works.
