inReach Explorer Check Out

There are 11 inReach Explorer devices available to be checked out from the Operations Department. These devices are labeled as such: inReach Explorer 1, inReach Explorer 2, inReach Explorer 3, etc. The inReach Explorer Check Out Google Calendar below displays which inReach Explorer devices have been checked out and when. To see who has checked out that particular device, click on one of the calendar events and a pop-up window will appear. The person who checked the device out will be listed in the "Description" part of the pop-up window. To check out one of these devices please follow the steps below:


 

Step 1

Use the inReach Explorer Check Out Google Calendar below to navigate to the dates you wish to check out an inReach Explorer. From here, check to see which inReach Explorer devices have already been checked out. For example, if a calendar event reads "inReach Explorer 9" on the days you wish to check out one of the devices, then all other devices, except for inReach Explorer 9, are available to be checked out during that time.


 

Step 2
  • Use this link to navigate to Google Calendar
    • If necessary, sign in to Google using your University of Alaska login credentials.
  • Once signed in, on the upper left of Google Calendar click the + Create button.
  • In the window that pops up,
    • Make the title the inReach Explorer device you are checking out (e.g. inReach Explorer 1, inReach Explorer 2, inReach Explorer 3, etc.)
    • Select the date range you wish to check the inReach Explorer device out for. Change the times to read when you are planning on picking up the device and when you will be dropping it off.
    • Copy and paste this into the "Add guests" field: alaska.edu_kod9o8uug8tn7bg501nej70c2o@group.calendar.google.com
    • In the "Add description" field, type your first and last name.
    • Click the Save button.
    • For the" Would you like to send invitation emails to Google Calendar guests?" click the Don't Send button.

 

Step 3

After creating the Google Calendar event, refresh (reload) this page.

After the page has reloaded, use the inReach Explorer Check Out Google Calendar below to navigate to the dates you selected. From here, you should see your request on the calendar, where the name of the device is listed as the name of the calendar event and your name will be listed in the "Description" for the calendar event.


 

Step 4

Use the inReach Explorer Check Out Form below to provide the Operations Department additional information about the inReach Explorer you wish to check out. Ask your Supervisor if you do not know your Fund/Org Number. Make sure to click the Submit button after you have filled out the form.
