UAF Required Training

All employees of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) must complete the following training within 10 days of starting work (volunteers and visiting researchers (working in a lab) are required to take a sub-set of this training). Make sure to understand the content of each module before taking the quiz, as a score of 100% is required to complete training. Notice that certain training modules must be retaken periodically in order to remain compliant with the UAF Required Training Attendance Policy.

Note: Unless otherwise stated, Environmental Health, Safety, and Risk Management (EHSRM) recommends that all training be retaken every four years.


 

 New Employee Onboarding and Benefits Orientation

Note: This training is only required for employees receiving employee benefits (i.e. health insurance, retirement, etc.).


 

 Behavior Based Safety

This training is completed via myUA

  • Once myUA has opened in a new tab, click the "myUA Employee Service Dashboard" button.
  • Login using your UAOnline credentials.
  • From the "My community" drop down menu (top of page), select the "Learning library" option.
  • From the "Type" drop down menu (top of page), select the "Tier 1: UA Employee Required Training" option.
  • Select the "Behavior Based Safety (BBS)" tile from the options to start the training.

 

Workplace Harassment Prevention

This training is completed via myUA

  • Once myUA has opened in a new tab, click the "myUA Employee Service Dashboard" button.
  • Login using your UAOnline credentials.
  • From the "My community" drop down menu (top of page), select the "Learning library" option.
  • From the "Type" drop down menu (top of page), select the "Tier 1: UA Employee Required Training" option.
  • Select the "Workplace Harassment Prevention" tile from the options to start the training.

 

Title IX

This training is completed via myUA

  • Once myUA has opened in a new tab, click the "myUA Employee Service Dashboard" button.
  • Login using your UAOnline credentials.
  • From the "My community" drop down menu (top of page), select the "Learning library" option.
  • From the "Type" drop down menu (top of page), select the "Tier 1: UA Employee Required Training" option.
  • Select the "Title IX - FY##" tile from the options to start the training.

Note: FY## indicates the fiscal year that this training is valid for. For example, Title IX - FY20 means this training is valid for the 2020 fiscal year.

Protection of Minors

There are three different options for taking this training. Only one of these options needs to be completed. Visit the EHSRM Required Training for all UAF Employees Page to determine which option you are required to take.

  • University Employees who are not Authorized Adults
  • Authorized Adults
  • Mandated Reporters

Note: All employees required to take the Authorized Adults or the Mandated Reporters options must retake this training annually.
