How will the new Gallery of Alaska become a reality?

With your help!

Usibelli, Shumaker gift launches museum gallery renovation

For all Alaskans, the University of Alaska Museum of the North houses and honors our art, our cultures, our histories, our heritage.

For visitors from around the globe, the Gallery of Alaska brings alive our great land, its flora and fauna, its fossils and its future.

We are honored to be part of this major renovation and we invite you to join us. Together we can create exhibits that protect vital artifacts and allow them to tell with eloquence and grace Alaska's stories.

Joe Usibelli and Peggy Shumaker

A $1 million personal gift from longtime University of Alaska Fairbanks supporters Joe Usibelli and Peggy Shumaker will allow work to begin on renovations to the university museum’s oldest gallery.
