Docents
UAMN Field Trip Philosophy
The University of Alaska Museum of the North strives to create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for youth. School groups will encounter a learning environment ripe with opportunities for observation, questioning, and idea exchange.
Volunteer docents facilitating explorations encourage student-centered learning and inquiry. While all explorations are designed to complement formal academics, focus is on learning in an informal setting. Guided by student questions and interest, explorations incorporate hands-on experiences and gallery discovery.
