Student Recreation Center (SRC)
The UAF Student Recreation Center opened in 1994 with a total of 55,799 square feet of recreation space. It is the focal point for student fitness at UAF.

Located on the second floor of the SRC - a multitude of cardiovascular machines overlook the courts below.
The machines include exercise bikes, elliptical trainers, treadmills, rowing machines and more.
The indoor climbing wall is located on the first floor of the SRC and presents many different challenges to various skill levels of climbers. Our outdoor ice climbing wall offers free rentals to students and SRC members. Check out our academic climbing classes here.
The Fitness Studio resides on the second floor with windows overlooking the courts below. Various fitness classes are held daily on the dance-grade wood floor.
There are three multi-purpose courts that can be used for a variety of sports, including but not limited to, basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, badminton and more!
The courts have a synthetic rubberized playing surface and are used daily by many different user groups.
We are excited to be offering many trips to UA students this semester including ice climbing, skiiing, snow showshoeing, and much more.

The West Ridge Fitness Center is open Monday thru Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the West Ridge Research Building Room 009 (WRRB 009). This is included with most Nanook Recreation Memberships, or available for individual purchase (available online at mynookrec.uaf.edu). The room has a complete circuit set of resistance equipment, a treadmill, stantionary bike, hand bike and a small selection of accessories.
The Nanook Recreation Patty Ice Arena is an NHL sized ice rink that seats 1,200 and is currently the practice site for the UAF Nanooks hockey team. We also maintain an outdoor ice rink in front of the SRC.

An indoor track circles the second floor of the SRC with three lanes and a 1/8th mile per lap scale.
The weight room is located on the 1st floor with over 200 sq.ft. of workout space. The weight room contains 12 squat racks, 8 platforms, 7 adjustable benches that can be paired with any of the four post squat racks.
The platforms are a mix of styles to accommodate any weight lifting workout, 4 Olympic weightlifting platforms have been paired with Rogue half racks and you will find 4 platforms are Rogue deadlifting platforms with band hooks over by the four post squat racks.
The weight room also contains dumbbells, a cable row machine, bumper plates and multi purpose Rogue Ohio Bars.
If you are looking for the plate loaded Hammer Strength equipment, just walk up the stairs to the second floor.

Groups interested in renting space(s) in Nanook Recreation facilities (SRC, Patty Ice Arena, or Patty Pool):
1 - contact staff at firstname.lastname@example.org with the details about your event such as dates.
2 - when staff confirms space availability, complete the SRC Ice Pool - Facilities Premises Use Agreement packet & follow submission instructions.
Reserve up to 2 hours of Court 2 or 3 or Fitness Studio during unrented/undesignated times for $0 (only available within 3 days in advance of the reservation & limited to 1 time block of up to 2 hours per day per group or membership). This option is good for those who are not planning events and have flexibility in their schedule.
