Virtual 1/2 marathon

Welcome to Nanook Recreation's
Virtual 1/2 marathon

This virtual 1/2 marathon is meant to help you get out and exercise during this time of social distancing and quarantine. The idea behind this event is that each person who participates runs, jogs, walks, or skis their own 1/2 marathon. After completing the 1/2 marathon, participants can log their times through this site. So even if we can't meet to do the event together, we can virtually encourage each other to exercise and get outside!

How does it work?

You have 10 weeks to complete a 10km (6.2 miles) walk, jog, run or ski then you will self report your finishing time on our Report Results page. (see the navigation bar above)

  1. Click on the link below to fill out registration form and the participant waiver. Registration

  2. Run a 1/2 marathon (13.1 miles) walk, jog, run or ski, Between October 21st and December 31st 2020.

  3. Report your results on the Report Results page before January 1st 2020.

  1. Get a Nanook Recreation T-shirt and check out the race results on our Results page or your fellow competitors finish line photos .

Registration is Free for UAF students, $12 for non-student Nanook Recreation members. Registration fee for non-members is $24. Every registered participant who finishes will receive a t'shirt upon completion of the 1/2 marathon!
