The Business Office in the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences provides high-quality service and administrative support to faculty, students, staff and departments within the University of Alaska system, as well as to outside entities.

The CFOS Business Office provides services in financial accounting, recharge, purchasing, travel, award management, and administration of internal policies and procedures.

Human Resources

CFOS Human Resources provides personnel support, advice and services for faculty, staff and students, including facilitating hiring faculty, staff and students; new employee orientation; benefits information; payroll and timesheet coordination; employee relations; tax forms; and supervisor resources.

Grants/Award Management

CFOS Grants Management serves as a liaison between the Office of Grants and Contracts and the Principal Investigator, and assists in achieving the agreed-upon Statement of Work for the project while maintaining sufficient fiscal controls to ensure compliance with:

• Terms and conditions of the award
• State, local and federal regulations
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• University Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual (UAPPM)
