The Business Office in the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences is a centralized unit which provides high-quality service and administrative support to faculty, students, and departments within the University of Alaska system, as well as to outside entities.

The CFOS Business Office provides services in financial accounting, recharge, purchasing, travel, award management, and administration of internal policies and procedures.

The CFOS Human Resources office provides personnel support advice and services for faculty, staff, and students including facilitating hiring faculty, staff, and students; new employee orientations; benefits information; payroll and time-sheet coordination; employee relations; tax forms; and supervisor resources.

Grants/Award Management

The CFOS Grants Management serves as a liaison between the Office of Grants and Contracts and the Principal Investigator, and to assist in achieving the agreed upon Statement of Work for the project while maintaining sufficient fiscal controls to ensure compliance with the

• Terms & Conditions of award,
• State, Local, & Federal regulations,
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) , and
• University Administrative Policies & Procedures Manual (UAPPM)
