Opened in 1962, Austin E. Lathrop Hall is a five-story building with capacity for up to 130 students in double occupancy rooms. Lathrop Hall is a diverse community made up of both first-years and non-first-year students. Rooms are assigned by genders but floors are not. Located on core campus the hall has a prime location, due to its close proximity to both the Student Recreation Center (SRC) and the Wood Center. Use your linked PolarExpress Card for no-fee access to your cash at the Wells Fargo ATM in the South entrance of Wood Center.
Resident Directors (RD) have a background in student development. They are responsible for promoting a positive residential community, and facilitating large-and small-scale programs to help integrate residents into student life at UAF.
Resident Assistants (RA) have extensive training with student concerns and campus resources. They help organize social and educational programs throughout the year. They are trained in mediation and are available to help resolve any roommate conflicts within the community.
24-hour security is provided with required key card access to the building, and key access required to access rooms.
There are two processes to switch rooms, Room Swaps and Even Room Changes.
Any room or hall maintenance issues can be submitted through your Resident Assistant or Resident Director.
