UAF uses badges for certain departments for identification. Please see below for departments and badge information.

The PolarExpress Badge Request is the proper form for requesting a Facility Services badge. Once the user's supervisor approves the form, the Bursar's office will process it and print the badge.

If the form is submitted for a replacement badge, the fund/org will need to be provided on the form by the employee or approver if the employee is not paying for the replacement.

-For Contractors-

Please use the PolarExpress Badge Non-Single Sign On form.

An account must be created in order to fill out and submit a form.

Contractors must include the company name they are working on campus for on the request form.

The PolarExpress Badge Request is the proper form for requesting a firefighter badge. Once the user's supervisor approves the form, the Bursar's office will process it and print the badge.

Uniforms must be worn in ID photo for badge.

If the form is submitted for a replacement badge, the fund/org will need to be provided on the form by the firefighter or approver if the firefighter is not paying for the replacement.

-For Students-

A Fire Department badge will be give in addition to the student's current PolarExpress card. The Fire Department badge will not have a magstripe reader or proximity capabilities; the student must use their PolarExpress card for making purchases and entry into and out of buildings.

When approved, a UAF State Officer badge and a UAF Police badge requiring the officer's signature will be issued. A PolarExpress card will be issued as well for UAF employee identification.
