The office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarly Activity (URSA) is UAF's resource for the development and promotion of experiential learning activities that engage undergraduate students to support UAF's goal to become a leading student-focused research university.
Undergraduate research and creative activity at UAF covers all disciplines, from climate sciences to music, engineering, anthropology, life sciences, art and theater.

2023 Supplies and Services Award
Applications open April 17, 2023.Full-time UAF faculty members, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students from all disciplines are eligible to apply for up to $5,000 in supplies and services funds to support undergraduate research and scholarly activity learning opportunities.

2023 Fall Student Project Awards
Applications will open April 17, 2023.Fall Student Project Awards are for degree-seeking UAF undergraduate students from all disciplines and UAF campuses. The Fall 2023 awards offer up to $3,000 for an individual or up to $6,000 for a group of two or more students. Funds may be used towards a fellowship, tuition, travel, services or supplies.

Rolling AcceptanceApply Today!Travel funds support students presenting research or creative activity outcomes at a conference, meeting or congregation of their peers/professionals in their respective field, as well as students partaking in competitions.
Virtual event registration fees are also eligible for funding.

Rolling AcceptanceApply Today!Undergraduate students with confirmed unpaid or minimally paid internships are invited to apply for URSA’s Internship Award.
Internships Applications are eligible for up to $3,000 for a Fall- or Spring-term internship or $6,000 for a Summer-term internship.
Students must have a secured opportunity in order to apply for funding.

Research and Creative Activity Day
This annual event allows students to showcase their scholarly experiences from the current academic year through posters, presentations, creative displays, and public performances. Both URSA-funded and non-URSA students are encouraged to participate. All UAF students, faculty, staff, and the community at large are invited to attend. After two years of virtual celebrations, we are excited to gather together in-person on the UAF campus.
