Your Gifts at Work

Research
Your donation can be used specifically to fund student or faculty research at UAF. Donations to the Theresa Jimenez Memorial Scholarship provide scholarships to non-traditional students attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks for undergraduate or graduate study in the liberal arts, including education. Preferences will be given to applicants intending to study history, political science, women's studies or northern studies.
Scholarship Support
Scholarships, Fellowships and student awards have an incredible impact on our Nanook Nation! We believe that enhanced student aid, through restricted or unrestricted gifts, helps retain the most talented of students. Donations to the Golden North Rebekah Lodge (Est. 1913) Scholarship provide scholarships to non-traditional students attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks for undergraduate or graduate study in the liberal arts, including education. Preferences will be given to applicants intending to study history, political science, women's studies or northern studies.

Thank you for continuing to support Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies at UAF!
Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; you are not receiving any goods or services in exchange for the money you give.

A message from the WGSS coordinator, Carol J. Gray
The work of the Women, Gender and Sexuality program is more important now than ever before. We are in a time when the rights of women, LGBTQI+ people, and other others who are marginalized are in need of advocates and a place of belonging. WGSS offers both.
We invite you to become part of our team. We are striving for equality for everyone, a place at the table for all voices, and classrooms that are tolerant and welcoming for all people.
We have monthly meetings during the academic year on the first Wednesday of every month for students, faculty, staff, and members of the public. Each month we feature a different guest speaker, usually a faculty member speaking about their research related to WGSS themes. Please follow WGSS on our Facebook page or email me if you would like to join our WGSS email list! I can be reached at cjgray5@alaska.edu.
Please join us for our monthly meetings and discussions. We would love to have your voice in the room and have you be part of the community we are building!
And to those who have already been so supportive, we thank you!
Best regards,
Carol Gray, WGSS coordinator

I chose to minor in Women and Gender Studies because I believe that gender is extremely
prevalent in society and having a deeper understanding of gender gaps and different
sexualities can really help navigating social interactions with one another... Having
a deeper understanding of this has led me to better connect and understand other individuals.Kennedy Atlee '23 B.A. Psychology; minor in WGSS
