The UAF Justice Department was voted as one of the "Best Online Graduate Criminal Justice Programs" in the United States by US News & World Report. The Justice Department graduate program was ranked in the top 1% of the 1,200 programs surveyed by US News. The Bachelor program was ranked in the top 2% of the 1,200 programs surveyed. U.S. News collected the data for the 2019 Best Colleges rankings in spring 2018.
UAF Justice Department is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities specializing in certifications for Alaska Police Standards Council. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) is an independent, non-profit membership organization recognized by the United States Department of Education since 1952.
UAF is a partner of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE), which offers the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program. Gain skills while still in school
Internship provides students with a supervised experience in a criminal justice agency/setting. Placements include, but are not limited to, Law Enforcement, Probation, Law Practices, and Prosecution/Defense agencies. Justice-related careers are on the rise. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, two areas with exceptional growth projections through 2024 include probation officers & correctional treatment specialists (with 4% estimated growth) and arbitrators, mediators, & conciliators (9%).Explore a Justice Internship
