History Support

Your gifts create results we see everyday. As stewards of these valuable resources, we are striving to be worthy of investment. When you give to CLA in memory of a loved one, or simply because you care, your contribution is cherished and used to further that most human of endeavors — learning.

Scholarship Support

Scholarships, Fellowships and student awards have an incredible impact on our Nanook Nation! We believe that enhanced student aid, through restricted or unrestricted gifts, helps retain the most talented of students. With fewer financial concerns, these students can focus chiefly on their studies, thereby reaching their full potential.

Donations to the Dirk Tordoff Alaskan History Endowed Scholarship provide scholarship support to students studying Alaskan history at the University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Liberal Arts Northern Studies or History Programs, with a preference for students whose research is conducted using the Alaska Film Archives in the UAF Rasmuson Library.

Your donation can be used specifically to fund student or faculty research at UAF.

Donations to the Croxton Family Fellowship endowment will provide support to graduate students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks who demonstrate academic skills and leadership abilities and whose academic program or research emphasis is in one or more of the broad areas of 1) anthropology, 2) Northern studies, 3) biology, 4) wildlife management, 5) elementary or secondary education 6) the fine arts, or 6) museum education and/or museum collection-based research in archaeology, ethnology or history. The intent of this fund is to increase the body of knowledge about Alaska, and to train professionals who will contribute to Alaska and its people.

Thank you for continuing to support UAF History!

Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; you are not receiving any goods or services in exchange for the money you give.

"The very concept of history implies the scholar and the reader. Without a generation of civilized people to study history, to preserve its records, to absorb its lessons and relate them to its own problems, history, too, would lose its meaning."

-George F. Kennan, "Putting History at Risk". www.nytimes.com. May 27, 1984.
