Appointments
How to make an appointment
Students can also use the following link to fill out an appointment request form and
we will call you back to schedule an appointment. https://www.uaf.edu/chc/forms/
Appointments should be made in advance. See information about same-day appointment availability below.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time, because there may be paperwork or computer questions that will take time.
Email and/or text reminders about your appointment are sent to you in advance. Please ensure that we have your correct email address and mobile phone number.
Same-day appointments
Limited same-day appointments for acute illnesses, injuries or mental health needs
are available on a first-come, first-served basis, Monday-Friday, starting at 8:30
a.m. Please be specific about your problem and its severity so we can ensure enough
time for you and our staff.
After-hours services
The UAF Student Health and Counseling Center now offers after-hours mental health services for students who need immediate mental health care.
Late policy
We understand that things come up from time to time, but as a courtesy to other students and in an effort to keep our staff from running behind schedule, we have the following late policy:
- Students who are 10 minutes late for a medical appointment will be rescheduled.
- Students who are 15 minutes or more late for counseling appointments will have to reschedule their appointments and may be charged a $25 no-show fee.
No-show policy
Failure to cancel or reschedule an appointment will result in a no-show fee. The no-show fee has been implemented for several types of appointments, including but not limited to:
- Annual physical exams
- Counseling appointments
- Firefighter physicals
- Dive physicals
- Same-day appointments
- Appointments with medical providers for mental health medications
If you have scheduled any of these types of appointments and fail to call us at 907-474-7043 prior to your appointment time to cancel, a $15 ($25 for counseling appointments) charge will be assessed to your student account.
