Mission and goals
The focus of the Office of Rights, Compliance and Accountability is preserving individual
rights, ensuring compliance with policy and law, and fostering accountability. Our
overall goal is to provide a respectful, diverse and inclusive university environment.
ORCA will serve as a single point of contact for matters involving Title IX, discrimination,
student behavioral intervention, crisis management and our Student CARE Team.

34 CFR 106 requires all materials used to train Title IX Coordinators, investigators,
decision-makers, and any person who facilitates an informal resolution process must
have their training materials publicly available on the Title IX website, or must
make these materials available upon request for inspection by members of the public.

NOTE:
UAF's ADA/504 coordinator is responsible for monitoring compliance with Section 504
of the Rehabilitation Act and titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities
Act, as well as state civil rights requirements regarding discrimination and harassment
based on disability. The 504 coordinator oversees UAF and the UA system’s prevention
and education efforts; implements the institution's complaint procedures; responds
to reports and complaints; conducts inquiries and investigations; identifies and addresses
patterns; and assesses effects on the campus climate so UAF can address issues that
affect the wider campus community. To report an incident, you can contact the coordinator
directly or submit a discrimination report online.
UAF's Title IX coordinator has primary responsibility for coordinating efforts to
comply with and carry out UA's responsibilities under Title IX, which prohibits sex
discrimination in all the operations of UA, as well as retaliation for the purpose
of interfering with any right or privilege secured by Title IX. The Title IX coordinator
oversees UAF and the UA system's prevention and education efforts; responds to reports
and complaints; conducts inquiries and investigations; identifies and addresses patterns;
and assesses effects on the campus climate so UAF can address issues that affect the
