Start the Spring 2026 Semester Right

New Student Orientation
Jan. 8-9 | Thursday–Friday
If you're a new student taking in-person classes in the Fairbanks area, you're required to attend orientation. It's UAF's responsibility to set you up for success!
We've planned several days full of activities to help you connect with other UAF students, discover resources and learn to navigate your new UAF home.
Fees: The cost of participating in New Student Orientation is included in your student matriculation fee.
Parent and Family Orientation
Jan. 9 | Friday
Parent and Family Orientation provides you with the skills and resources you need to support your student in their transition to college life at UAF. You'll meet the faculty and staff who will support and educate your student inside and outside of the classroom, and have a chance to take care of any outstanding business with the university.
Fees: Attending Parent and Family Orientation costs $10 per person. This fee covers the cost of meals and materials distributed during Parent and Family Orientation.
Community and Technical College Orientation
Jan. 9 | Friday
As a new CTC student at UAF, this is a chance for you to connect with fellow first-year CTC students and your program instructors, discover helpful resources, and ask any remaining questions you may have. Come see your new classroom spaces and get ready for the fall semester. The CTC team is here to support you through your academic program, and for whatever comes next! A UAF shuttle service will take students to and from CTC Orientation.
Fees: There is no additional fee to attend CTC Orientation. The cost of participating in New Student Orientation is included in your student matriculation fee.
Stay Connected With Residence Life
UAF is invested in your success as a student. Experience and research conclusively shows that living on campus — especially during your first year in college — leads to academic success and greater connection to the campus community.
You are required to live on campus if you're an incoming first-year undergraduate student attending the Troth Yeddha' Campus in Fairbanks, enrolled in 9 credits or more, and under the age of 21. Exceptions are approved in some circumstances.
