On campus recycling paused
Dear UAF community,
Due to the spread, and uncertainty, of the coronavirus COVID-19 we have temporarily paused recycling on campus. Our student recyclers are vulnerable to exposure; they sort items placed in bins and are touching and working with used, open containers throughout the workday. They also cover large portions of campus multiple times per week when they do pickups.
All items collected so far are still being sorted and recycled.
Once we are advised that it is safe for recyclers to continue their job, we will let the campus community know and restart right away. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but must err on the side of caution.
