Gwen Holdmann to Present on Fulbright Arctic Initiative

ACEP Director, Gwen Holdmann, will be presenting on the Fulbright Arctic Initative at UAF on August 14th.  In 2015/16 Holdmann and IAB Assistant Professor Tamara Harms were Fulbright Arctic Scholars. The presentation takes place Monday, Aug. 14, 1-3 p.m., in the Murie Building auditorium. Light refreshments will be served.

The Fulbright Arctic Initiative, an interdisciplinary collaborative research program, studies the changing Arctic region. This supports the U.S. goal of stimulating international scientific collaboration on issues facing the Arctic while increasing mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.

Through international exchanges, three group seminars, online engagement and collaborative research, Fulbright Arctic Initiative Scholars will explore public-policy research questions and engage governments, NGOs, businesses and Arctic communities. The group’s research will focus broadly on the impact of climate change on the Arctic and particularly on the issues of water, energy, health and infrastructure.
