The Alaska Nuclear Energy Working Group meeting in September will feature a presentation from Christina Joyce, founder and CEO of Eurotech Ventures, who will address Alaska’s thermal building and industrial and district/campus energy demand.

She will discuss Eurotech’s new LDR-50, a light-water 50-megawatt thermal reactor specifically designed to produce clean heat. This small nuclear reactor, the size of a shipping container, is designed by Steady Energy, a Finnish company partnered with Eurotech.

When: 11 a.m. AKDT, Tuesday, Sept. 22
Please register to attend the meeting.

If you missed the past presentations, recordings are available here.

The Alaska Nuclear Energy Working Group brings together members of the public, researchers and industry stakeholders to investigate advanced nuclear reactor technologies and examine their potential roles, benefits, and challenges within the Alaska energy landscape.

Hosted by ACEP, AKNEWG working group meetings occur on the fourth Tuesday of the month and include presentations from researchers, industry leaders and others involved in the nuclear energy sector with time for Q&A and discussion. The working group may also be called upon to provide input on future studies and policy direction. We welcome broad and active participation.
