Energy in the North on heating
ACEP’s Amanda Byrd hosts the “Energy in the North” series.

The “Energy in the North” episode on April 15 will feature Alec Mesdag, the president and CEO of the Alaska Electric Light and Power. Heating in Alaska has historically been generated by heating fuels such as oil, natural gas and propane. With heating fuel over $5 a gallon and a break-even point of $4 to $4.50 a gallon, Mesdag will talk about heat pumps as an alternative.
“Energy in the North” explores the importance and opportunities that energy and power provide to Alaska and its people.
The series airs weekly on KUAC FM 89.9 and streams on KUAC on Wednesdays at 7:45 a.m., 8:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Alaska time.
