Data centers are popping up across the country and around the world. But data centers are not new to Alaska. In fact, UAF has possibly the oldest data center in the state.
This week and next week, “Energy in the North” host Amanda Byrd talks with Sam Enoka, founder and CEO of Greensparc, a data center infrastructure company based in San Francisco. Enoka talks about whether the demand for data centers is new, where his first installation is, and more.
“Energy in the North” explores the importance and opportunities that energy and power provide to Alaska and its people.
The series airs weekly on KUAC FM 89.9 and streams on KUAC on Wednesdays at 7:45 a.m., 8:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Alaska time.
