BIO
Neil McMahon is a research assistant professor at ACEP. With his background as an engineering project manager assisting municipal clients in developing projects and a state employee managing grant programs, he is particularly interested in ways to improve decision-making for participants and managers of grant programs for energy projects.
Before joining ACEP, McMahon was a project manager at a civil engineering firm and a program manager at the Alaska Energy Authority and a high school teacher. He holds an M.S. in energy, economics and environmental technology from City University in London, U.K., a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and a B.S. in engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage, and a B.A. in physics and geology from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington.
McMahon is the proud dad of three adventurous young daughters, which leaves minimal time for his favorite hobbies, cross-country skiing, running, mountain biking and traveling.
