BIO

Jus Tavcar (pronounced: Yoosh TOW-char) is ACEP's ARCTIC program architect. He designs operations of a partnership for advancements in energy through research and technological innovation, serving Alaska and beyond. He also helps manage the network of collaborators, streamlines communication and conveys the outcomes to the public.

Prior to joining ACEP, Tavcar assisted with campaign and operations management as an intern for Ship Creek Group. Before moving to Alaska in 2023, he worked for the Friends Committee on National Legislation in Washington, D.C., where he lobbied Congress on climate and energy legislation.

Born and raised in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Tavcar earned his undergraduate education from Earlham College and recently defended his M.A. thesis in Arctic and Northern studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, focusing on Alaska’s just energy transition.
