The Center for Arctic Security and Resilience (CASR) sits within the School of Management Homeland Security and Emergency Management
Program and in partnership with the College of Natural Science and Mathematics (CNSM),
the Geophysical Institute (GI) and the International Arctic Research Center (IARC).
CASR aims to:
- Serve as Alaska’s primary resource supporting Arctic-related Homeland Defense, Security
and Disaster Management studies and scholarly activities throughout the Circumpolar North.
- Advance the understanding of changing dynamics in national and human security issues
within the Arctic.
- Support integrated research and academic efforts regarding resilience in the classroom,
laboratory and the field.
