17th Conference of the Parliamentarians of the Arctic (CPAR)

ABOUT the CODEL

The purpose of the CODEL is to serve as the official U.S. congressional delegation to the 17th Conference of the Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region (CPAR). While in Alaska, Members will engage directly with Arctic parliamentarians, Indigenous Permanent Participants, and operational leaders on priority issues, including dual-use Arctic infrastructure and energy security; space, security, and Arctic domain awareness. The delegation will also conduct targeted briefings and visits across key Arctic assets, including the University of Alaska Fairbanks drone integration programs, geophysical and space research facilities, Poker Flat rocket range, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Permafrost Tunnel, and geothermal energy systems at Chena Hot Springs.
