Welcome to the Office of the Provost
Message from the Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor
Welcome to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where we are all connected by our transformative experiences. I am your Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, Anupma Prakash. As your Provost, I oversee all academic matters. As your Executive Vice Chancellor, I represent your Chancellor, Dan White, as needed; and I lead the coordination of educational, research, and public service activities of the University. I wear many hats, as does this website, which has something for everyone:
Students, your academic journey is at the heart of what we do. My office oversees your right to appeal academic decisions, whether they pertain to grades or other matters. Additionally, if you are interested in pursuing a degree with professional licensure requirements, I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Professional Licensure Disclosure Dashboard, a tool that will help you navigate licensure requirements across the United States.
Faculty, this is your credible one stop shop for resources such as accreditation guidelines, student learning outcomes, faculty evaluations, program reviews, and leadership development opportunities. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the tools and resources available to you.
Staff, you play a critical role in the success of the university. Here you will find valuable resources regarding academic operations, including processes and templates for MOUs, MOAs, and Affiliation Agreements. I encourage you to engage with our leadership development opportunities, as you will find these valuable in your roles just as much as the faculty will.
As our Chancellor Dan White often reminds us, “a million things have to go right for this institution to continue down its path to success every day”, and it is thanks to our phenomenal staff at UAF that we are able to do what we do. So, if you have questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. My team and I are here to support you, and we are always happy to help.
Thank you for being part of the UAF community. You belong here.
