2011 UAF Legacy Lecture features distinguished UAF alumnus Joe Usibelli

An Evening with Joe Usibelli will take place Monday, June 6 at 7 p.m. in the Davis Concert Hall on the Fairbanks Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Joe Usibelli has received numerous state and community honors ranging from Alaskan of the Year in 1983 to a UAF Honorary Doctor of Letters in 1996. His job listings range from a janitor for Jessen's Weekly in 1953 to President of the Usibelli Coal Mine from 1964-1986. Since 1986 he has served as the Chairman of the Board for Usibelli Coal Mine. Joe is a man of numerous interests and talents. Besides his lifelong interest in mining, Joe enjoys traveling, fishing, flying, scuba diving and growing grapes in the Napa Valley of California.
