UAF joins the Great Alaska ShakeOut on Oct. 15

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will participate in the 2026 Great Alaska ShakeOut on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. The event will include a test of UAF's emergency alert system. Members of the public and the UAF community may receive emails, phone calls and text messages, see pop-up messages on their computers, and hear alarms or loudspeaker announcements. As part of the test, students, faculty, and staff across UAF campuses and research locations are encouraged to take a few minutes to practice earthquake safety--and to self-register at ShakeOut.org.
