New employee welcome events
New employees working remotely are invited to participate in an hour-long overview
of UAF via Zoom. These events are held monthly. Attendees will receive a branded UAF
t-shirt.
The events are tentatively scheduled for the following dates
- Thursday, April 18, from 1-2 p.m.
- Summer dates tbd
In-person events are scheduled a few times in the semester, and employees who can
make it in-person are encouraged to do so. New employees will receive an invitation
and will need to RSVP by March 29 to prepare catering. The tentative schedule is below.
- 8:15 a.m. — Welcome and check-in, Regents' Great Hall
- 8:30-9 a.m. — Coffee and muffins with UAF Chancellor Dan White
- 9-10 a.m. — Discover UAF: UAF’s mission, vision and culture
- 10-10:30 a.m. — Perspectives on student success
- 10:30-10:35 a.m. — Break
- 10:35-10:45 a.m. — Employees are the essence of our brand with University Relations
- 10:45:10:50 a.m. — Break
- 10:50-11:05 a.m.— Taking care of each other and yourself
- 11:05 a.m. — Explore the campus core, touch on history, academics, student life
- Noon — Lunch at Wood Center C/D
- 1-2:30 p.m. — Yukon Drive to West Ridge for tour
- 2:30-3 p.m. — possible tour stops
- 3 p.m. Shuttle back to core
- 3-5 p.m. (optional) Head shots from 3-5 p.m. – Must be scheduled in advance here.
