accounting and finance

The accounting program serves its Alaska stakeholders through excellence in teaching, research and service. We prepare undergraduate accounting students for entry level accounting positions and provide a solid foundation for their subsequent careers. Accounting faculty engage in applied research and volunteer service that facilitates the advancement of the accounting profession in Alaska.

The program offers an extensive curriculum for those interested in the fields of general accounting, auditing, managerial accounting, taxation and government accounting.

The accounting program prepares students for certification as Certified Public Accountants, Certified Management Accountants, Certified Financial Managers, Certified Internal Auditors and Certified Fraud Examiners.

UAF’s accounting degree is the only one of its kind in Alaska accredited by the The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the premier global accrediting body for business and accounting programs and schools. This highly sought after dual accreditation has only been achieved by 1.5% universities worldwide and the UAF College of Business and Security Management is the only university in Alaska with this distinction.

The College of Business and Security Management is extending an offer to waive the application fee for all students who apply to any College of Business and Security Management degree program. Use the waiver code UAFCBSM when applying to take advantage of this offer.
