ACADEMIC ADVISING

Academic advising is required of all undergraduate students prior to registration each semester. Graduate students also have access to an academic advisor who can help with course planning and degree completion. All CBSM academic advisors can assist with registration, petitions, change of major requests and answer any number of questions related to the college experience.

INTERNSHIP COURSES

CBSM’s internship courses are online classes designed for students to earn academic credit by connecting the job experience with the concepts, theories and ideas already learned in the classroom. Internships are powerful resumé builders, a way to enhance confidence and expand employable skills.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

In the 2020-21 academic year, the UAF College of Business and Security Management awarded over $104,000 in privately-funded scholarships to 61 students. Students receive awards based on merit, financial need, outstanding achievement in specialized fields, or any combination of these criteria. STUDENT INVESTMENT FUND

The Student Investment Fund (SIF) was established in 1991, when a total of $100,000 of university endowment money was given for student investment purposes. Students in SIF experience the growth and volatility of the stock market first hand. The SIF is currently worth approximately $1.2 million and is used to help to fund several student scholarships each year.
