You’re Invited: Alaska Electric Vehicle Working Group Jan. 30

The Alaska Electric Vehicle Working Group seeks representatives of electric utilities, agencies, tribes, municipalities, universities, consumer advocates or environmental organizations, automotive companies, and other electric vehicle industry stakeholders who are interested in collaborating to prepare the Alaska market for EV growth.

Quarterly meetings of the working group will be the place to engage on the issue of EVs, share updates on the rapidly evolving sector, and identify and discuss Alaska-specific issues that need to be resolved to ensure the public benefits from this promising technology. Subcommittees will meet more frequently to develop recommendations on technical issues for the larger group.

The first meeting will be a smaller technical session and is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, in Anchorage. This meeting will be centered around 1) demand charges and 2) the upcoming Alaska Energy Authority solicitation for EV charging infrastructure. You can attend in person or online, and please feel free to invite others with expertise and interest in this topic.

The first quarterly meeting for all stakeholders will be held on Feb. 18, 2020, 10-11:30 a.m. in Anchorage.

The Alaska Electric Vehicle Working Group is a collaborative effort of the Alaska Energy Authority, SparkBox, and the Alaska Center for Energy and Power.

To RSVP for the technical session, get on the contact list, ask any questions or provide suggestions for specific agenda items for the technical sessions, please contact Michelle Wilber at 907-350-1663 or
