The Bachelor of Security and Emergency Management (B.S.E.M.) delivers first-hand, real-world experiences, successes, and lessons learned. The CBSM homeland security and emergency management program prepares students for a service-driven career where they operate under different rules and make crucial decisions. Our students receive training for meaningful jobs with good wages and significant growth opportunities. Whatever the scenario, their impact will be unmistakable.

Security and emergency management students can specialize in climate risk and security, cybersecurity and information technology management, emergency management, emergency medical and public health management, fire administration, homeland security or law enforcement management. Each specialty offers unique opportunities for applied learning and career enhancement. Students benefit from a unique combination of in-person and online or strictly online classes designed to be flexible enough for a working student's schedule.

Grace Hopkins

Grace Hopkins’ journey to success is anything but ordinary. Starting out in cosmetology, she pivoted to higher education during the pandemic, discovering her passion for service through Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Along the way, she achieved the rare honor of induction into both Beta Gamma Sigma and The Order of Sword and Shield, recognizing her outstanding academic performance and leadership. Now pursuing her master’s degree at CBSM, Grace demonstrates the resilience and dedication that defines our alumni.
