Zoom AI Companion

The University of Alaska is excited to announce the launch of Zoom AI Companion's new features. This innovative tool is designed to further enhance meeting productivity and efficiency across the university. These features are available on an opt-in basis, meaning they will not be automatically enabled for everyone.

Key Features

AI Companion Panel in the Desktop App

The AI Companion Panel provides users with a personal assistant within the Zoom Workplace app to help make their workdays more productive and manageable. With the AI Companion diamond in Zoom Workplace, users will be able to open a panel where they can ask questions and receive tailored responses sourced from different data sources and contexts available to the user.

In-Meeting Questions:

Zoom AI Companion's in-meeting questions feature lets participants ask the AI about the meeting's content (e.g., "Catch me up," "What are the action items?") to get quick answers, stay updated if joining late, and avoid interrupting the flow, using a temporary transcript for real-time understanding. Hosts can enable it for all participants or just themselves, allowing for clarification on topics, decisions, and next steps without pausing the discussion

Meeting Summary

After each meeting, receive a concise recap of key discussion points, action items, and decisions, making it easier to keep track of important information.
