Work continues on the replacement of the stairs and sidewalks on the south end of the Eielson Memorial Building this weekend. Salcha Street will be closed at the entrance to the Eielson West parking lot starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 15, and ending 7 a.m. Monday, June 17. During this time, the Signers' East (metered) parking lot will be closed. The Eielson South lot will remain open; however, patrons are urged to use caution when entering and exiting the lot.

Accessible parking will be available in the Eielson West and South lots. UAF Facilities Services will have staff on site this weekend to assist with access to the core of campus.

The work on the Eielson Building includes removing existing soil and installing new gravel in preparation for concrete placement.

During the week of June 17-22, there may be intermittent lane closures for the westbound lane of Salcha Street during normal business hours as the contractor begins to place concrete for the sidewalk and stairs. Access to the parking lots and campus core will not be affected.
