Processes that govern freshwater-riparian productivity, spatial subsidies in freshwater food webs, linkages between freshwater-marine and freshwater-terrestrial ecosystems, salmonid foraging ecology and trophic interactions, invasive species impacts in freshwater/riparian ecosystems, climate change effects on freshwater food webs, restoration and management of freshwater and riparian ecosystems.
