How to pay for college
Your college education is an investment in your future and paying for college doesn’t require that you go deep into debt. Understanding financial aid, the cost of attendance and scholarship opportunities is key to unlocking many of the resources available to help you pay for college.
There are many types of financial aid available to help you pay for college. Our financial aid advisors are experts at helping you to identify the options that will work best for you and your situation and helping to guide you through the process.

Over 30 different scholarships are exclusively available to students enrolled in UAF CTC programs. These scholarships are made available through individual and local industry donors and highlight the community support for UAF CTC and its mission to develop a work-ready workforce. Applications are due by February 15th of each year for scholarships applicable to the following academic year, starting in the fall. In addition to the UA Foundation Scholarships, CTC students are also eligible for the Grainger Tools for Tomorrow Scholarship Program, due in March, and the Golden Valley Electric Association’s Career & Technical Education Scholarship, with an application period open from November 1-March 1. Scholarship applications can be picked up at 604 Barnette Street or emailed upon request from the CTC Financial Aid Advisor. Applications for the GVEA Scholarship are also available online at GVEA’s website.

CTC dean candidates to make public presentations

Kevin Alexander and Brenda Madore, candidates for dean of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College, will give public presentations Monday, Dec. 1, and Tuesday, Dec. 2.
UAF summit to explore health care careers, education
October 21, 2025
Community members can explore an ever-expanding array of health careers and educational opportunities at the 14th annual Alaska Interior Medical Education Summit. The summit will feature demonstrations, panel discussions and hands-on activities to introduce attendees to various health care careers and education options. It will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, in the Murie Building at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
UAF culinary program bistro opens for spring season

The Borealis Bistro, a lunch service provided by the UAF Community and Technical College culinary arts program, will be open to the public from Feb. 27-May 1.
