Tech Prep and Dual Credit

Kuskokwim Campus offers opportunities for currently enrolled high school students to receive college credits. In addition, our tech prep program focuses on providing practical, hands-on experience.

Dual Enrollment (credit):

The dual enrollment process allows secondary school students to register for UAF classes and concurrently earn high school and college credit, if approved. Any high school student meeting course prerequisites may enroll in university classes. Students must consult their appropriate school district officials and school counselors for approval prior to registration if they wish to use university courses to meet high school graduation requirements.

Contact Ryan Henderson (contact information below) for registration information.

Tech Prep:

Alaska Tech Prep is a school to careers strategic partnership between secondary education, post secondary education and business that prepares Alaska's young people for today's skilled workforce. It links student's secondary career and technical education (CTE) programs with post-secondary, apprenticeship or workforce training programs. Students may earn college credit for courses they take while still enrolled in high school and/or receive advance placement in apprenticeships with credit for prior experience. This enables students to transition smoothly, avoid duplication, and successfully acquire an industry recognized certificate, credential or degree.
