Each year, a group of alum volunteers from the nonprofit UAF Alumni Association heads to Juneau to advocate for UAF and higher education in Alaska. No state or university money is used for this nonpartisan effort, called UAF Impact. It coincides with the Coalition of Student Leaders' legislative fly-in, providing a side benefit of alumni and students interacting and connecting with each other.
Alumni and friends who would like to receive updates from the UAF Impact volunteer team, chaired by Mike Campbell `05, may sign up by sending an email to email@example.com. Put in the subject line "Sign up for UAF Impact newsletter."
This year's event is set for Feb. 27-March 1.
UAF alumni join UAA and UAS alumni to host the Pizza & Politics reception for legislators and staffers at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29.
