Each year, a group of alumni volunteers from the nonprofit UAF Alumni Association heads to Juneau to advocate for UAF and higher education in Alaska. No state or university money is used for this nonpartisan effort, called UAF Impact. It coincides with the Coalition of Student Leaders' legislative fly-in, providing a side benefit of alumni and students interacting and connecting with each other. In 2017, the UAFAA is partnering with alumni volunteers from UAA and UAS for an all-UA alumni team.
