UAF student job and research fair

August 8, 2013

Cornerstone

The combined UAF Job and Research Fair sponsored by Career Services, Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research will take place from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Sept. 11 and 12 in the Wood Center multilevel lounge.

This event will provide an opportunity for students to talk to UAF departments, research units and other students about on-campus jobs, research opportunities and scholarly activities in their major or other fields of interest.

This year’s UAF Job and Research Fair will feature poster presentations by UAF graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. These junior researchers are invited to showcase their projects with either a newly created poster or one presented at a meeting in the past year. This is an excellent opportunity for researchers to recruit undergraduate assistants to work in paid positions or through one of UAF’s many undergraduate research courses. Interested graduate students and postdocs should email their abstract to the URSA Coordinator, Elizabeth Belknap, at eabelknap@alaska.edu. The deadline for registration is Sept. 9; sign up early because space is limited.

For departments to register for this event, create an “Employer” profile on UAFCareerConnect, then select the Events tab for the UAF Student Job and Research Fair 2013. Department registration deadline is Aug. 28, 2013
