Three finalists selected for UAF chief information officer

UAF will host three finalists for the chief information officer beginning next week. Each finalist will hold a campus forum during their visit.

Martha Mason serves as the executive director of user services for the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she leads a team of 27 staff providing help desk, client support, learning space technology management, video conferencing and systems engineering. Mason’s campus forum will be Tuesday, March 26, at 4 p.m. in ELIF 301.

Chris Bernard is the chief information security officer for Bucknell University, where he is responsible for establishing and implementing the university’s policies and technologies to manage information security risks and protect constituent data. Bernard’s campus forum will be Monday, April 1, at 4 p.m. in ELIF 401.

Jerod Hall serves as the director of project and program management and strategic planning for IT at West Virginia University, where he is responsible for IT governance, project planning, facilitating development of IT strategies for infrastructure, applications and security. Hall’s campus forum will be Tuesday, April 9, at 4 p.m. in ELIF 301.

The CIO will provide vision and leadership for UAF’s information technology services and will serve as UAF’s IT advocate with the UA system office.
