Sure, you've lived in Alaska for a long time, but did you know we've got super chickadees, 57 Willow creeks, islands that both we and nature have blown up, and we boast the same all-time high temperature as both Hawaii and Albany, New York? If you didn't, come and see Ned Rozell's presentation on the many reasons there are truly no places like Nome at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 30 in Schaible Auditorium.

Ned Rozell has written more than 700 newspaper columns on science for nonscientists as a writer for UAF's Geophysical Institute. He is the author of three books, including Finding Mars and Walking my Dog, Jane, from Valdez to Prudhoe Bay along the trans-Alaska pipeline.
