Recycled glass workshop

Learn to make beautiful and functional art pieces from recycled glass. The public and students are invited to a Glass Recycling Workshop to learn about turning recycled glass into jewelry, small sculpture and functional art. The workshop will take place from 6 - 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, in the UAF Jewelry & Metalsmithing Studio from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 - 2.

The hands-on workshop will be taught by UAF art faculty and students and is sponsored by the UAF RISE board, UAF Art Department & Alaska Metal Arts Guild.

Cost is $150 per person. There is a 20 percent discount for payment received by Nov. 10. Using recycled glass, each student will learn to make glass cups, beads for jewelry making, and a small sculptural piece using mold making, slumping and fusing.
