If your skills in translating complicated scientific subjects for a non-scientist audience could use some upgrading, consider registering for JRN F456—Science Writing for Magazines and Newspapers. Goals of the class include learning how to differentiate between a “story” and a “topic,” translate scientific and medical jargon into terms understandable by the lay reader, and write clear, interesting articles that both educate and entertain the general public. Instructor: Lynne Lott. The class meets TTh 9:45 –11:15 a.m. in 126 Bunnell.
