Film auditions for 'Pink Violet'

"Pink Violet" is a short film about a theater-obsessed college student who goes to extreme lengths to get into the mind of her character. Her commitment scares her dad into believing that she is suicidal and pushes him to try to save her from herself.

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 7, 2-5 p.m.

All characters are gender neutral.

  •  Dana (18-26) A bubbly, theater-obsessed college student with a vivid imagination. They have a very thin grasp on reality and would rather live in their imaginary world than the real one.

  •  Jeffrey (35+) A shy, hardworking parent who puts their child’s dreams first. Jeffrey raised Dana by themselves since Dana’s mother left when Dana was just 4.

  •  Jody (18-26)  Confident, level-headed college student, dedicated to getting good grades. Not afraid of a lot but knows when to set boundaries.

  •  Billy (18-26)  A charming, prince-like person. They are the only person that truly understands Dana.

  •  Phoenix (18-30) A posh, dedicated thespian with a passion for the highs of theater. They’re great at auditions but have a horrible track record of being awful at performing during actual shows.

  •  Ben (18-30)  A die-hard people pleaser. Wants to be liked above all else, especially by their peers. Phoenix’s right-hand thespian.

  • Mike (18+)  The assistant cleaning manager, dedicated to doing their job to the fullest extent, but their love for partying sometimes weasels its way into their workflow.

  •  Director (18+)  The lifeless, stoic director of the play Dana is auditioning for, and the one person Dana sees as stopping them from getting the role of a lifetime.
