The University of Alaska Fairbanks and the UAF Alumni Association will honor Frank Paskvan with the 2014 Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Paskvan will receive the award Sept. 26 during the Nanook Rendezvous awards dinner at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge. The event is part of the annual UAF Alumni Reunion, scheduled for Sept. 26-27.

Paskvan is a third-generation Alaskan who followed his father’s footsteps to the UAF College of Engineering and Mines. He received a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering in 1985 and has worked for BP and ARCO for 26 years in Alaska and Jakarta, Indonesia, as a reservoir engineer, mentor-coach and team manager. He led BP’s research into Alaska’s viscous and heavy oil developments and now leads development planning for the Prudhoe Bay area.
