2012 Spotlight Series: An Alaskan's guide to surviving Washington and politics July 11

Join award-winning producer and host Libby Casey for a lecture at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 11 in Schaible Auditorium. This lecture will cover how Alaska and Washington, D.C. are about as far apart in every sense as two places in America can be, as well as  ways to use hard-earned Alaska skills to thrive in the nation's capital. She will provide stories and observations of life in D.C.

Casey is a producer and host of C-SPAN's morning call-in program Washington Journal. She was the Alaska Public Radio Network's D.C. correspondent after spending nearly a decade at KUAC in Fairbanks where she covered everything from mushing to politics. Her radio stories have aired on NPR and won awards including the Alaska Press Club's Public Service Award.

The 2012 Spotlight Series are free lectures held Wednesday evenings, May 30 – August 15 (no event on July 4), at 7 p.m. in Schaible Auditorium.
